BDSMmentors training consists of classes, demonstrations and workshops with "hands on" experience. Hallmarks of a BDSMmentors presentation
Our courses really are different  Read the testimonials here.  They are not simple "Wednesday night demos", or Sunday afternoon discussions.  They are carefully pre-planned, thoughtfully prepared, professionally produced, expertly delivered; structured learning experiences.  Each topic is researched, practiced, and peer reviewed to ensure maximum training effectiveness.  Each of our specific "Hallmarks" is discussed in more detail below.

Multi-Media presentation and Lecture
All of our classes feature a multi-Media presentation of the topic.  These provide visual aids which help
the student easily grasp the learning concepts.  Photographs and videos are included when appropriate to
assist the process.  At our two day sessions the student is supplied with a notebook containing prints of the slides for note-taking and a reference resource CD for even more detail and total recall of many of the topics.

Technique Demonstration
Many of our classes include actual demonstrations of the presented material. The demonstrations include
live models when appropriate and actual devices, tools, or materials at other times. These demonstrations let the student see exactly the methods and techniques the mentor is speaking of, let the student understand
precisely how to apply the lecture material, and prepare the student for the next phase of learning - "hands on".

Emphasis on Safety and Responsibility.
Our courses not only teach methods and techniques, but also emphasize the safety and responsibility factors for each activity. Potential hazards are identified and discussed. Possible risk areas are illustrated and mitigation techniques and tools are demonstrated. We believe that understanding the hazards and how to overcome them is one of the basic skills that must be mastered for any BDSM topic.

Hands-On Workshops
We believe the best way to learn is by practice. Our practice workshops allow the student to use actual tools, materials, and equipment , thereby learning by doing.  Our Mentors and coaches provide personal instruction in an open environment where skills can be learned from scratched or improved to perfection.  We provide all the tools you need, but bring your favorites if you wish to learn with your own.  When appropriate, we provide demo models for you to practice with and get valuable personal feedback for improving your techniques..

Soft Topics
The mental aspects of BDSM are equally as important as physical or technical. We include many "soft topics" in our curriculum for both Dominants and submissives. "Dominant Ethics", "Relationship Styles", "Inside the submissive Mind", The 10 rules of Dominance", "submissive or slave": are just a few of the soft topics.  For these we conduct interactive lecture and discussions,  open  panels for questions of both Dominants and submissives,  private consultations, guided meditation, and role playing to bring the topics alive and illustrate the principles.  Learn the successful approaches to BDSM for the Dominant, submissive, or switch.

Weekend Experiences for Intensive Learning
By grouping various topics we have structured special weekend (16 hours) events to  focus on learning.  Dom Boot Camp and the submissive Survival Course provide basic skill establishment and improvement. Extended Boot Camp and the submissive Obstacle Course continue at an intermediate level of instruction. "Special Ops" Weekends go deep into many edge play topics including "Fireplay", "Singletail Whips", "Needle Play", "Electrical Play", "submissive Workshop", "slave Selection" and many others. "Special Ops" Training for Single Topic Concentration
Occasionally we provide single topic sessions to allow  specialized instruction.  Lasting only 4 hours, these short courses include multimedia lecture, technique demonstration, and hands-on workshops as appropriate.  Pick from 2 or three morning course and/or 2 or three afternoon courses for Dominants and submissives. Couples can have a full day of instruction and training. These courses allow deep exploration of edge play topics in a safe environment with skillful instruction and coaching.  

VIP Gift Bag (two day courses only)
Our two day courses include a VIP Gift bag crammed with various items to help the student. Contents might include rope for beginning bondage enthusiasts, a crop for learning impact play, EMT safety shears, a beginning needle kit, discounts to future events, discounts for purchases at Taboo Leather, a Lord Dan BDSM resources CD, BDSM fetish DVD for viewing pleasure, Special passes to Dragonsgate Studios or Lair De Sade, and many more valuable items. Each bag is structured for the specific 2-day event, so the contents vary. There are always surprises.

Lunches, food, drinks and snacks (lunches with two day courses only)
A full two days of activity requires energy! We provide light breakfast drinks and snacks, a morning and afternoon fruit and cookie break, and a complete lunch to maximize your time with the Mentors and other students.  For those with special dietary needs complement your food with ours, or use the many nearby restaurants.   Coordination with the companion submissive courses allows time to visit with your significant other or to socialize with like minded individuals. Of course, if break time topics turn to continuing class discussions that is alright too.
